As for introduce - Im from Poland

Id like to know how to unlock those wd320budt HDD drives. Ive one from my sagemcom decoder and Id like to swap it with my 120GB laptop HDD. Ive read all those 58 pages and Im stuck at page 55. S/A operatuins > modules operations (fw turned off). In my case nothing is there. <hlp in eng needed>

Can someone help me to unlock WD5000AVDS? I tried with zu.exe and z!.exe but it only shows only "ELAPSED 00:01.. 00:02... 00:03" and nothing happens. When I press enter, it shows "UNLOCK NOT DONE".

The drive is from tv recorder.

I suppose nobody will help me for free.. I can pay some $

PS: I did some attempts with MHDD and HDAT2 but no success, maybe I did it wrong.

PS2: Interesting thing: I run HDD Unlock Wizard, it detects the harddrive, it does some diagnostic, and says that the harddrive can be unlocked and I have to buy some unlock code.. BUT after this, I can initiate the drive in Control Panel and normally use the drive in windows! Full size.
After PC restart, it's locked again.

Hello all I coming here with new strange problem

Description of the problem Drive won't spin up in PC/BIOS/Windows. Drive only spin up in Echostar DVR-7400 HD and in PC with running Linux Parted Magic (only read standard informations about drive) (we can't write/read/create files/partition)

WD Marvel Safe Mode Beta 4 (yes I'm still using Beta4): 1. Launch Windows 2. Start WDMarv 3.Plug the drive and detect:

I did hotswap. Plug SATA/Power in DVR then unplug SATA and plug SATA from computer/Windows.
And sucess:



Then I did "Restart FW" and drive again won't spin up.

Finally I readed modules and Flash. Download:

02 and 802E are different.
What I should do first ? Remove password ? Flash other FW ? Replace 02 with 802E ?

This HDD have "Low Current Spinup Enabled"...

try use

try replace 0D module from another HDD...

You are wrong. I can connect power to HDD from DVR (without SATA) and drive won't spinn up. Drive spin up only in DVR and PC with running linux with SATA cable.

WDIDLE3 modifies the idle3 timer in MOD 02.

WDTLER modifies the ERC timeout values.

Neither appears to have any bearing on your problem.

Instead ISTM that your drive is Powering Up In Standy (PUIS). Remove the PM2 jumper (if it is present). Otherwise try disabling PUIS with HDAT2.

You would need to launch HDAT2 with the /w switch to wake up the drive, ie ...

HDAT2 /w

BTW, MOD 0D in ROM is where the PUIS flag is located. Compare MOD 0D before and after running HDAT2. You don't need to replace this module.

Then, remove password, create new partition and HDD work.
